Welcome

Welcome to the new Ellis Avenue Church website.  We’re glad you’ve visited us on-line -we’d love to have you visit us in person as well.Click on the links above to learn more about our church community and our congregational life.

Upcoming events in our church community:

Our annual youth Christmas Pageant – Sunday December 18 from 11:00 a.m. – 12: 15 p.m.  This is an EAC tradition – the children from our Children’s Church program (ages 3-9) will re-tell the story of the birth of Christ with lots of congregational carols and special music mixed in for good measure.  Food and fellowship follow this special celebration of both the advent season and the youth in our congregation.

Our ‘Darkest Night’ service – Wednesday December 21,  6:00 p.m.  – 7:00 p.m. On what will be the actual darkest day of the year we gather to remember for many people – especially those who have lost a loved one or suffered a significant grief – this season is not “the most wonderful time of the year”.  We gather for a simple service of sharing, prayer, silence, and reflection on our griefs, losses, and struggles over the past year – and yet try to affirm the fact that God remains present with us – indeed this is the meaning of Emanuel that we note in this season – even in these difficult times.

Candlelight Christmas Eve Service – Saturday Dec. 24th from 4:30 p.m – 5:30 p.m.   Hear the story of Christ’s birth through song and scripture as well as spoken-word poetry and dance.

Thanks again for visiting and God’s peace to you on your journey.
